Jackie believed in self-discipline, hard work and determination. After the White House, she threw herself into her role as an editor at Doubleday, engaged in all aspects of book development and promotions. As an ultra planner and organizer she said 'Vigorously strive to fulfill your vision. Make the most of every moment.'
She recognized with amusement that publishing was a 'war by other means' and worth it when fighting for something you believe in.Nothing was impossible to Jackie or Saint Joan of Arc--the spiritual archetypes for 'French Heart' and for my life. I think they'd both get a kick out of the enterprise required to make a bestselling book today.
