Beth Anderson~Chic Galleria

Insightful, amusing, thought-provoking, rock-star
Editor-in-Chief of
Chic Galleria--Beth Anderson, together with her son Austin, staff, and writers, celebrated their first anniversary with impressively high traffic rankings that trump even upscale resort plazas with anchor stores like Tiffany and Louis Vuitton. During the busy holiday season--she graciously took time to provide some of her entrepreneurial tips:

Did you have a model for Chic Galleria? Chic Galleria originally started as my personal blog about 4 years ago. I do not have a model for Chic Galleria per say. My web designer and I had many sleepless nights bantering back and forth with our ideas. We still keep a running dialogue to keep the website fresh. My goal with the new website design was to highlight the writers at Chic Galleria Publications. I would have to say that my favorite websites to visit at the moment are ones where I get inspired. Chandra Michaels, artist and designer behind the brand Sugarluxe, has a blog that is one of my regular stops. I also love the Fashion section of New York Magazine.

What are the origins of your sense of chic? 100% inspired and influenced by my mother.

Who is the chicest of them all? I will forever be influenced by Coco Chanel. “A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” Coco Channel

What’s your top time management tip? Time gets away from me quite often.

Your favorite way to recharge? Walking the beach which I don’t get a chance to do very often.

Your favorite virtue? Passion

Your chief characteristic? Honesty

What one memory from your entire life would you choose to live with through eternity? Sitting on my Dad’s lap when I was a child and holding my own children in my lap when they were young.

Your favorite qualities in a man? Honesty and sincerity. And in a woman? Honesty and sincerity.

What do you appreciate the most in your friends? My closest girlfriends tell me the truth about things and aren’t judgmental. They love and accept me for who I am. My closest guy friends are like brothers to me. I can tell them anything.

Your main fault? I am too trusting.

Your idea of perfect happiness? I don’t believe there is such a thing as perfect happiness. And misery? The loss of someone close to my heart.

If not yourself, who would you be? Really, I can’t be me? That would be a bummer.

Where would you like to live? That’s an easy question…Hilton Head Island with an apartment in New York City.

Your favorite book? 'Love You Forever' by Robert Munsch

Your favorite food and drink? Lobster, oysters on the half shell and a Lemon Drop Martini. I also drink a boatload of coffee.

What you loathe most of all? People who lie.

The natural talent you’d most like to be gifted with? Speaking in front of crowds.

How would you wish to die? Not a good subject. I lost my husband at 35 years old and almost died myself 2 years ago.

Your favorite motto? This changes quite often for me. Right now I would have to say, “Drinking decaf is a waste of time.” My lifelong motto has always been, “I tried everything in my life; things I like, I try ‘em twice.”

What is your present state of mind? Always optimistic!
